- Mission – As an organization grounded in the Latino community of Washington State, it is the mission of El Centro de la Raza (The Center for People of All Races) to build the Beloved Community through unifying all racial and economic sectors; to organize, empower, and defend the basic human rights of our most vulnerable and marginalized populations; and to bring critical consciousness, justice, dignity, and equity to all the peoples of the world.
- Project – Most of our staff have been and are still working from home due to the COVID-19 crisis. It became clear very quickly when the crisis started that our website was a huge communication tool that people were relying on for information during this crisis, and the site needs to be much better equipped to be an asset during this uncertain time. We use WordPress to manage our website and our website is in need of some improvements. Improvements will include adding webpages, building out other pages, reorganizing the site, adding graphics in some areas, adding interactive features (especially for emergency resources), adding a splash page, creating an easy to update section for emergency notices and information, and improving functionality. We also need some webforms created and added that will help us better serve and communicate with people including program participants, students, parents, donors, funders and volunteers.
