Capitol Hill Alano Club

CHAC’s (Capitol Hill Alano Club’s) mission is to support all 12-step recovery groups by providing a safe, permanent and welcoming meeting environment for members of the Seattle LGBT community in recovery. Established in 1982, they had been a part of the Capitol Hill and Seattle community through their annual fundraisers (Bat-n-Rouge: Drag Queens vs. The Dykes, Kringle’s Korner Christmas Tree Lot). Though founded and supported by the LGBT Community, CHAC had been welcoming all people seeking recovery and hosted nearly 60 meetings a week.

During the inaugural Seattle GiveCamp event in Spring 2011, Seattle GiveCamp helped update CHAC’s website.

As of December 31st 2012, the Capitol Hill Alano Club is now permanently closed.
