Seattle GiveCamp is now accepting proposals from Seattle-area non-profits interested in pro-bono software solutions. In case you are not familiar with us, Seattle GiveCamp is a “hackathon for good,” taking place over a weekend during October, where programmers, designers, and other software professionals donate their time to create custom software for non-profit organizations. This software solution might be a web site, desktop app, database, or some other piece of software that you need coded, designed, updated, or configured.
Seattle GiveCamp 2023 is scheduled from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15, and will be in person this year! If your proposal is accepted, that’s when all the magic occurs. A team of software professionals dedicated to your project will give their all during GiveCamp weekend to take your ideas and make them into a reality. All at no cost to your organization. And while all the magic will happen that weekend in October, a lot of preliminary work must be done before that time, including raising money from sponsors, buying t-shirts, enrolling volunteers, and, most importantly, reviewing the proposals to pick the projects that are both. That’s why it’s important to get your proposal in soon.
Our submission process is pretty simple: complete the online application form, which includes a number of detailed questions about your organization and your proposal. The online application form is only 10 questions long and can be completed in a few minutes, but you should spend some time first coming up with a good idea for what you want us to work on. And do realize that while the event is at no cost to you, one of the requirements is that you need to be onsite during the Seattle GiveCamp event for several hours each day.
Non-profits are invited to submit proposals at Seattle GiveCamp Non-profit Project Proposal. At this URL, you will also find information outlining the rules and guidelines for submitting proposals, as well as the link to the online application form. Please make sure you read the rules and guidelines completely before you begin!
We are also going to have a webinar at Noon on Aug 16th for the non-profits to explain more about what we can do for you, what the application process looks like and answer questions about your proposals. More details here shortly.
The deadline for proposals is Aug 31.
